 Por la segunda fecha de la Zona A del XI Mundial FIP de 14 goles que se disputa en el Sidney Polo Club, ubicado en Richmond, Australia, la Selección Argentina de Polo dirigida por Diego Braun, superó con enorme autoridad a su par de España, cuyo coach es nuestro compatriota Benjamín Araya, por 12 a 3 ½, luego de ceder 1 ½ de ventaja por su mayor valorización de conjunto.

 

Tras un inicio muy parejo, Argentina tomó las riendas del partido y con un estupendo juego de conjunto, en donde se destacó el back Tomás Panelo, autor de 7 goles, logró un triunfo que lo deja muy bien parado de cara a la última jornada de clasificación, en donde enfrentará al local Australia, que por la segunda fecha cayó ante Estados Unidos por 7-5.

 

El conjunto argentino está representado por Lucio Fernández Ocampo, Héctor Guerrero, Valentín Novillo Astrada y Tomás Panelo, quienes habían ganado las eliminatorias sudamericanas en Punta del Este, Uruguay, en enero de este año. A ellos se le sumaron como suplentes Iván Maldonado (4), Ignacio Bello (2) y Federico Panzillo (2), que reemplazaron a Javier Cabrera Castilla y Juan Nagore, que habían participado en la eliminatoria.
