Lechuza wins Pennell Cup

Playing without their regular back, Juan Martin Nero, Lechuza defeated Casablanca 14-11 in the season opening tournament in South Florida. Nero has been sidelined with a broken thumb since December and has plans to return to the team within a few weeks.

Meanwhile, Pablo McDonough (10) turned in an outstanding performance as the teams’ replacement. He scored eight goals in the game, including 6 in the second half. The score remained tight throughout the match with eleven lead changes and the contest was peppered with several fouls, which slowed the pace considerably. Casablanca struggled with keep up with McDonough’s horses in the final two periods as he took command of the field and the outcome of the game.
