A final schedule change in the 2017 Jaeger-LeCoultre Trippetts Challenge has the final two preliminary games of the tournament scheduled to be played on Friday, May 19th.

La Indiana (Michael Bickford, Nic Roldan, Agustin Merlos and Luke Tomlinson) already grabbed the first finalist spot following a 10-8 win over El Remanso (Charlie Hanbury, Oliver Cudmore, James Beim and James Harper) on Wednesday, capturing the top spot in their three-team bracket.

Originally, single games were slated to be played on Thursday and Friday, but a late change had both games in the four-team second bracket re-set for Friday.

At 11am, the King Power Foxes (Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Charles Cooney, Gonzalito Pieres and Facundo Pieres) will face Sommelier (George Hanbury, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Fred Mannix and Alec White). Th King Power Foxed won their tournament opener while Sommelier rides on to the field at 0-1.

Corine Ricard’s Murus Sanctus team (Corinne Ricard, Hilario Ulloa, Facundo Sola and Dirk Van Reenen) will take the field at 1pm against La Bamba de Areco (Jean Francois Decaux, Diego Cavanagh, Magoo Laprida and Rodrigo Rueda, Jr.). Ricard is the only woman patron in the tournament and her team is 1-0 in tournament play. La Bamba de Areco will be looking for their first win at 0-1, and will need a victory and some help from Sommelier if they are to have any chance of making their way to Sunday’s final.

Talandracas (Edouard Carmignac, Guillermo Caset, Pelon Stirling and Jack Hyde), the seventh team in the Jaeger-LeCoultre Trippetts Challenge field suffered their second straight loss of the competition last Sunday as La Indiana staged a come-from -behind win in an exciting 11-10 duel. They will be resting their horses in preparation for their opening game of the 2017 Queens Cup on Tuesday, May 23rd.
